SKJ’s Chai

It’s my personal brew, made w love!

Black tea, cardamon pods, star anise, cloves, ground ginger, dried ginger, cracked black pepper.

. . . . . . .

Quickly make a brew w steeping 2 x heaped teaspoons in a mug 3/4 full w boiled water, then add milk and honey to taste.

|| OR! || Make it over the stove top for ah-mazing taste :

Pour 3/4 mug full of water into a saucepan [if making chai for more folks, add a 3/4 mug full for each person].

Scoop 1 tablespoon per person, and ALWAYS add another tablespoon ‘for the pot’ [if making chai for more than 5 folks, add an extra tablespoon ‘for luck’].

Grate 3cm cube of fresh ginger into the pot, per person.

Let sit for 30-45 mins for the spices to soften in the water.

Then, slowly bring to boil, while constantly stirring.

Once at a rolling boil, remove from heat and let sit for 10 mins.

Pour and strain into mugs, then add milk and honey to taste.

** awesome idea! ** pour into glass jars and refrigerate. When cold, pop an ice cube or two in and wha-la : ICED CHAI !
